Chief Rita Aizehi Aimiuwu Oguntoyinbo
Biography
Chief Rita Aizehi Aimiuwu Oguntoyinbo was born on the 16th of January 1956 to the family of Chief Josiaih Ehiosu Aimiuwu and Mrs Amen Aimiuwu, both of blessed memory. She is blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren.
Rita obtained the secondary school certificate in 1974 and proceeded to obtain both Ordinary and Higher National Diplomas in Administration from Auchi Polytechnic from 1975 to 1979. She was President of the Departmental Association and the Debating Society at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State from 2007 to 2009.
Her first appointment on graduation and completion of the mandatory National Youth Service Corps in 1980 was as Personal Assistant to the leadership of the defunct Nigerian Peoples’ Party (NPP), working with the First President of Nigeria and Presidential Candidate, Chairman and the National Secretary of NPP until 1983.
She joined the World Health Organization in 1984 as the Administrative Assistant and Head of Protocol to the WHO Country Representative, where she performed leadership roles in various departments in WHO and rose to the level of National Administrative Officer. She was part of the WHO team that supported Polio Programme at inception and she also supported the WHO Regional Office to set up the mechanisms for WHO/AFRO NTDs Programme in 2011 and retired from WHO in January 2016 after 31 years of meritorious service, receiving various merit and long service awards.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Management in Nigeria and the UK, Chartered Management Consultant, member Nigerian Institute of Management and trained in the Chartered Management Consultants – Global ISO 20700:2017 Project Self Declaration Checklist.
Rita Aizehi Aimiuwu Oguntoyinbo in 2004 founded Amen Health Care and Empowerment Foundation to mark her 20th year in the service of WHO. The Foundation which is named after her mother, is to compliment the efforts of government and partners to reduce morbidity and mortality from preventable and curable diseases.Amen Health Care and Empowerment Foundation with the support of Government and partners has supported the establishment of several Breast and Cervical Cancer centers and conducted outreaches in several States across Nigeria including Edo, Delta, Lagos, Cross Rivers, Kano, Taraba, FCT, Osun and Gombe.
Chief Rita Aizehi Aimiuwu Oguntoyinbo has received several titles and awards from federal, state governments, community leaders and organizations across the Country for her selfless services to humanity.
